Description
Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Suture, Undyed Braided, CT-1 Needle, Size 0, 8" x 18" is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable suture composed of a copolymer of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It is designed to provide excellent handling, knot security, and reduced tissue drag through a braided structure coated with polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate.
The suture is integrated with triclosan, an antimicrobial agent, which imparts antibacterial properties to the fiber. In vitro studies have shown that Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Sutures inhibit the growth of common surgical site infection pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).
The CT-1 needle is a 1/2 circle taper point needle designed for soft tissue penetration with minimal trauma. It allows controlled, atraumatic entry through delicate tissues such as fascia, subcutaneous layers, and muscle.
